After the turbulence of 2022, Australian's continue to show a lack of faith in leadership generally, with the national leadership score remaining at 63/100 in Jan - March 2023.

  • Overall, competence scores improved slightly (67/100), as did integrity (63/100), with contribution remaining at 65/100. More work is needed to restore faith in leadership amongst Australians.
  • The government sector continued to perform worst (58/100), while the public sector performed best (70/100). The private sector showed improvement (62/100) while the not-for-profit sector declined further (61/100).
  • Specifically, emergency services (82), higher education (72), law enforcement (70), telecommunications (66), and travel & tourism (66) showed strong improvement. While religious institutions (53), aged care (55), professional sporting clubs & organisations (63), and charities (66) declined strongly.
